Phil and Pat, I will already be down south at exit 101 "Claytor Lake", there is dairy queen and gas on this exit. Should I try to meet up with you guys on your way down 81 or meet you in Damascas / Marion? Can any of you talk on phone while riding?

I am new to Garmin and base camp so I might be doing something wrong but all I see in base camp is the one long main route with gas stations and hotels along the way.

Back on base camp, yes I see options marked in red north of Charles Town. I don't see one any further south than that.

I can talk on the phone while riding, but I rarely connect it to my headset. I connect the GPS to the headset always for music and turn by turn directions. I can connect both, but it's a PITA every time I turn the bike on.

I was asking cause ultimately Id like to roll onto 81s when you guys get passed Radford University. When you guys are heading south on the 27th. Or plan for gas and water break around the 100 mile marker.

My plan is to ride bike down to Claytor Lake exit 101 on the 26th and visit with my parents. I can meet any where at any time on the 27th.

If you want to meet us enrt on I81 I'm sure we can do that. Maybe we can call/text when we get started that morning and make some time estimates as to when we would get to exit 101 to pull in and all meet up.

I just finished wiring in an on/off switch for my ABS on the Wee. Now I'll be able to turn that crap off when we get on gravel or dirt roads and turn it back on when we hit tarmac.

Next thing to do is cut out a piece of aluminum and bolt it to the foot pad of my kick stand so I can put it down in soft soil. After that, I think the bike will be ready for the trip.
