I just got a "save the date" notice for a friend's wedding that weekend...

I think I did this event every year from 2010 to 2015 Even one year w/ my kid in a sidecar.
Its a well run dualsport and a great one in that its a little more geared toward bigger bikes. You could do it on a big adventure bike, but the 500-650 thumpers are about perfect.

Also a great event to bring out the new guy who is just getting into dualsport. If you skipped all the "hero sections", a dirt rookie could have a fun time w/out beating him(her)self to death.

Bucho you need to become a mean nasty prick like me then you will not be getting those silly wedding invites to mess up a perfect day of riding :whip:

I did this last year which was my first real trail ride. What a blast! Well organized and tons of nice guys to help pick up a bike. It really is a 10% street /90 % dirt trail ride. Last year I went by myself not knowing anyone or what I was doing and really wore my self out quickly both days. I did not do all 500 kilometers of trail but it still was Fantastic! Im going every year here on out!

latest email from them says
>> ONE WEEK EARLIER this year: 30 Sep - 1 Oct
>> You will have the option to buy or not by breakfasts and dinners, which will reduce the cost for some of you have told us you don't eat and/or don't like those meals.
>> We are going to have a very nice raffle prize at the riders meeting each morning (Sat & Sun). Probably a GoPro or motorcycle GPS. If you have other reasonable suggestions for raffle prizes please email them to info@watr.us

Anyone thinking about doing this this year? After the KAT, my dad's feeling saucy and is willing to give it a go with options!
