RAC - Sun Feb 19

Post by Skinny-J »

So its supposed to be in the 60's this weekend; crazy weather for the middle of February so WF has decreed that we have to go riding somewhere. Saturday is Motorama so that leaves Sunday (and makes it an ALL moto weekend!!) Therefore, we are going to hit RAC. Anyone is welcome to join us. Probably between 9:30 and 10 at the Burma Rd parking lot right outside St. Clair. We will call it a pre-ride for next Sat the 25th as that is still on the calendar too!

Found this Trail condtions report (as of this morning) on TT:

"Trail report - Hey guys, I work right next to RAC three days a week- so I can literally see the trails from my office. And I ride there about once a week at least I will post up the trail report from time to time.

As of yesterday afternoon- the snow was about 80% clear on Burma road side and about 50% clear on Darkwater side.

Burma side= the haul roads were clear and wet, the wooded trails had snow in spots but you could get a decent ride in and just be carful on the snow and ice sections.

Darkwater side= haul roads are mud and snow, woods are still snow and ice in many spots- I would avoid dark water until after this weekends warm weather - its is always more muddy and wet over there- it needs time to dry up.

In short- Burma side is certainly ridable- but be careful as the snow/ice spots are there and you will need to pay attention when going around turns or for what is under the leaves.

Darkwater is muddy/snow and I would rather not go over there if it was up to me."

I think with a very warm day on Saturday we should be good to go for Sunday....
