I've got a riding buddy who is from that area (lives in NoVA now). He built a CR500 motored KTM framed beast for doing those hill climbs (Joe may know more details on the bike). He'll go up just to do the hills. I'm not sure he's been out lately though as he's been doing a bunch of woodworking to make his house nice for the wife... :whip:

I was up there around 2000/2001 on my klx300. Of course, anyone who's ridden with me knows I'm not a hill specialist (putting it mildly). Even so, I could go wide open in the correct gear and all that but the bike would just run out of steam well before the top. You'd have to be super talented to get to the top of these things on a little bike.
