Is the $5 permit something new?

(I haven't been there since probably 2003.)

From the Q & A on the Website it looks like the fee began in July of 2007. http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/gwj/recreation/ ... faqs.shtml

Yeah, its fairly new. Me and KLR dude went there a few months ago, the guy that sells the passes is kinda an a-hole but that didn't stop us from riding. The store is only about 8-10 minutes from the parking lot. Lookin forward to it!

Sounds like a plan. I'm in. I'd rather bring my CRF but if everyone else is bringing tagged bikes I'll ride the XRL.

Here's a bit of DAMN history. "HondaHawkRider" coined the Dualsporters and Adventurers of Maryland name in the Taskers Gap parking lot back in January of '06.

Well Mr. Rocks, looks like we meet again...

Doh!

I have never been to Taskers because it has not been spoken highly of. I would be game to try those rocks on the 520. It seems to be able to cheat over sections that give others absolute fits.

There are some decent trails there.

But there are also some aweful rocky trails that I remember as not even being fun. Though I would like to say that I'm a better rider now, but still I'd probably avoid some of those.
