Awesome. Ill probably be skipping the hero sections this year too.
Which bike are you bringing?
I'll take the Yamaha again. Traingin was great on the BMW, but the yamaha is nice and light. I'll use the ammo cans again for luggage, but when I get to the campsite I'll take off the rack/can system. And I'll have spare seat bolts... Last year I rattled my seat bolts off...

Last year I booked a tent site a ways off from you folks. Do we have a Damm Rider site booked this year? The tent sites are already booked up, so I could book a full hook-up site - or I could pitch a tent in a Damm Rider area. anyone?

Since Ken is dropping out you can take his spot. I have campsite C24. It backs up to the campsite the DAMN crew was hanging out at last year.

=====================================

The Washington Area Trail Riders thanks you for joining us for the 19th annual AMA Husqvarna Shenandoah 500 National 2-Day Dual Sport, October 5th & 6th 2013. Home base for this event is at Natural Chimneys Regional Park in Mt. Solon, Virginia.

Registration Sign-In and Tech Inspection:

Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM

Riders’ Meeting: Saturday & Sunday at 8:00 AM
Riders' Meeting begins promptly at 8:00 AM both days. Come to the riders’ meetings! Don’t miss out on important course information and any last minute route changes. Our special awards and giveaways will be presented at that time.

The ride begins immediately following the riders' meeting both days - be prepared to start your ride. Sweep riders leave the campground at 9:00 AM to pull down trail markers, so there will be neither trail markings nor support available after that time, up though that location.

The Course: About 150 miles each day. Gas is available but you'll need about a 55-mile range. Most of the trail is open to 4WD traffic. Expect vehicles around blind corners; please stay on the correct side of the road.

Private Property: Some parts of the trail cross private property and we must obey the posted 10 mph speed limit in these areas or risk losing it. You are required to display your rider tag to gain access to these sensitive areas. We ask you not publish the information from the roll charts and/or maps online or in any public forum.

Natural Chimneys is a public park - helmets required at all times, no pit racing, no alcohol, obey the speed limits, no motorized vehicles on the perimeter trail and keep the noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing other campers. Pets on a leash are welcome.

Food: There are five meals included the registration fee.
1) Saturday Breakfast at Natural Chimneys from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM

2) Saturday Lunch at South Fork VFD from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
3) Saturday Dinner at Natural Chimneys from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
4) Sunday Breakfast at Natural Chimneys from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM
5) Saturday Lunch at Bergton School from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

***IMPORTANT*** - You must carry your meal wrist band (included in your rider packet) with you for the corresponding meal number tab!

Weather: Weather can be variable in the mountains at altitudes up to 4400 feet where we ride. Make sure you have a jacket and rain gear, just in case.
