....WE can have hard core rides, kiddie rides, Boom Boom rides, Rzr rides when poeple want to organize it. I would really like to sick with the DUAL SPORT theme. With a bonus if Ken can get part of the orv open. agin just my .02. Time will tell and no matter what someone will get pissed off. :boohoo:
++1

Just my $.02-
The only thing that has changed at GR is the ORV is closed; and IMHO the ORV was only really just a rough jeep road anyway. It certainly wasn’t a “trail”; and unless we camped right on the ORV you couldn’t “legally” get non-plated bikes and kiddies over to it. However, some of my favorite campouts and “adventures” have been at GR and did NOT involve the ORV (they did involve a few train tresells and also a certain little creek)

I don’t think anyone is saying that we can’t have a big family jamboree at Mountain Ridge or BB’s or Granvilles at some other time; I have got small kids my self that I would love to start bringing. And I LOVE riding the gnarly single track as much or more than the next guy. I just think it would be fun to do some DUAL SPORTING for a change and GR suits that perfectly.

You know, I think back to the 3 original reunions we held at GR and some of the faces that were always there I no longer see at our recent events and I think that may be because some people are not into paying to ride organized DS events with 200 of their closest friends or paying to ride at an ATV park or bashing their brains in on sweat single track. GR would just be an alternative to the stuff we always do through out the rest of the course of a normal year…

I have said my peace; where ever we end up, I will be there and happy to be on 2 wheels….

All well said above.
How about we pull my place from the options and save it for a mid summer run when it is warm enough for tubing the creek and all.
Early spring the farm is very muddy and if the date falls around spring gobbler then I would be pissing off my brother-in-law by riding the farm when he is hunting.
Sounds like the reunion needs to go back to its roots and be more of a DS gathering.
If it comes down to a tie, my vote was for Mountain Ridge only because that is more the type of riding I do. If a tie, change my vote to Green Ridge only because the reunion should remain a DS theme gathering.
We have Hatfield on the books, the Boom Boom farm can always be worked in as a filler event if we need that kind of fix.

BB,

I can not emphasize this enough; THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for offering up your riding area. I have been jonesen to make it to your place for a long time but the stars just haven't lined up. This will be a great time no matter if it ends up being the reunion or later in the summer, I can't wait...

I'm a relative DAMN Newbie compared to the folks advocating for Greenridge - so maybe I don't have the proper historical perspective?

But, I don't see the advantage of Greenridge over Mountain Ridge or Boom Boom's place? It seems to me that MR or BB's offer the ablitlity to have the camping comraderie, etc. of Greenridge AND the opportunuity for Kids, Wives, Beginners, etc. to get in some riding AND the opportunity for ATV rides for all AND the opportunity for real DUAL Sport riding (which is On AND OFF road riding) for us Dual Sport types.

What is gained by having the event in a place that has none of the "AND" options I listed above. I just don't see the logic????

Everyone I talked to had a GREAT time at MR and I know that we would LOVE BB's place as well. SO I'm urging that we go to a place that has OPTIONS
Sam Jones - Frederick MD
GL1800 DCT TRIO Tilting Trike - KTM 525 EXC - KTM 200 XCW - 2 KTM Freeride 250Rs - TRS 300 Xtrack Trials
Lots of E-Bikes/MCs
Polaris RZR 800
Lots of MTBs and Road Bikes and a BamBuk Recumbant Tandem Trike eBike

Boom Boom`s is no longer an options! Read a few post back. He posted it !!
The biggest advantage of Greenridge is simple: Its cheap!!!! lots of good riding, poeple can come and go as they please. You don`t have to pay to get in GR and its closer.
historical perspective? Its where it stated!
Boom Boom will have a ride.
Granville will have a ride.
Mtn ridge will have a ride.
ETC, ETC, ETC!!!
If someone wants to set up a wife- kid- atv ride have at it. I`ll even try and bring my wife and kid!!! And an atv.
As for the reunion 15 poeple voted out of 400+ and a few of the mtnrigde poeple want to go GR.
Sorry if it doesn`t make you happy!!!!

DAMN reunion @ GREENRIDGE date to come.

If someone wants in a different spot next year, step up an do it!!!!!!!!

GR  f_ck yeh!

Sorry guys havent been around much but havent stopped riding any less :brows:
Just jumped on looking around to see whats happening, saw the campout thread and had to post.

I voted GR because to me it will always be the DAMN campout location even when we were at MR it didnt FEEL like the DAMN campout. Dont get me wrong I love MR and its an awesome place to ride but was just too disconnected from the original campout, I dont know just felt different  Wasn't DAMN riders thought up over a drunken GR campout?? I think it really sucks not having the ORV loop but to me and most of the dirt bags the trip in itself was the best part not necessarily the riding once there. We always rode to the campout in a big group, last year two of us rode to MR, yeah sad huh. The dirt bags will be in full force for the GR DAMN campout and will be looking forward to it! Its been too long cant wait to see the DAMN crew again!

I'd prefer to avoid Mother's Day. The 17-19 works good for me right now.
