Its Hammer Time 2012
Re: Its Hammer Time 2012
and not much sand at all. I think they have one mandatory (because it is NJ) sand section. Otherwise a really sweet ride one the racers get past you.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds good, I'm in!
Main reason I asked, I'm thinking about replacing my DRZ with a 650-690 of some sort. I didn't want to pre-enter for this ride if a "big" bike wouldn't work.

Adventure, dual sport, and trials (not necessarily in that order)
Re: Its Hammer Time 2012
you won't have nearly as much fun but there are plenty of KLRs and other big bikes that do it. Just stay off the options unless you are Jonah Street.SherpaT wrote:Thanks for the replies. Sounds good, I'm in!

I don't even think you'd notice much of a difference if you went to a 690. The DRZ is a pig. :)Kyler wrote:you won't have nearly as much fun but there are plenty of KLRs and other big bikes that do it. It's a fairly tight ride through tree's in places and open and fast in others this will give you a decent idea of the terrain you'd encounter. I think part of the video is in the options.

Re: Its Hammer Time 2012
I'm in. This is my favorite organized ride of the year.
Other then being tight it's not really a hard ride. I feel this is very doable on a well set up 650 sized bike. You would still have fun but might not be able to finish the entire route.
Is bonehead coming out on the big kaboom twin?

Hammer run is the one with the wicked aa option, right? The one where last year I wisely took the bypass? If so, this year I'm taking my cheater bike. :)

if you plan on running up front with Bucho, you need the cheater bike.phoo wrote:Hammer run is the one with the wicked aa option, right? The one where last year I wisely took the bypass? If so, this year I'm taking my cheater bike. :)
