Shenadoah 500

Post by Skinny-J »

I received an e-mail yesterday that registration has opened for the S-500 on Oct 4/5 this year. This is a 2 day event that the Northern Virginia Trail Riders puts on and is part of the Suzuki AMA Dual Sport Series and is a great time. Registration is limited to 200 riders and closes in early September. Our continget is at 3 riders already and it would be cool to hook-up with some more of your DAMN guys. Check it out here:

Bucho has talked me into sticking with the BP500 - now PB300. If this wasn't the weekend immediately prior, I'd be interested.

Good to see you guys down there. We had 5 Huskys, a DRZ and KLR in our camp, Yanni23 from ADV Rider had to bail at the last minute. Perfect weather, great food and coolers full of beer all weekend.

The DRZ and I were goin' at it pretty good when he attempted to pass a control rider Sunday afternoon. The CR wasn't having anything to do with that :gdog: . He got by several corners later but missed the next one and dodged several trees. :lol8:

We caught back up to the CR amongst a group of riders and all hell broke loose. He lead us through two track whoops for miles on his 525. This was DAMN sure the CR's home turf as he began backing into 180~ rocky switchbacks. We were nailing the whoops :whoop: hard enough that the respective bikes were above each other's heads. Pretty cool to witness! :ride:

My sag is set up somewhat stiff, it wasn't enough. BANG - my forks bottomed hard. Toolbag, check, carry on. SCRRREECH - skidplate takes another landing shot, carry on. They told me my plate was gone when we stopped to reconnect the group. The tire ripped the plate, part of the fender and tail light off somewhere along the way. VA revoked my permit recently so I rode Sallydog's KLR back to camp.
