What we,re really looking for is something like you see on some of the backroads around greenridge. Shelter with a woodburner and no one around. The cabins at The Cove are listed as rustic/ primitive, but I have no idea how secluded they are. Image

The cabin at The Cove are really cool secluded. This one is on top the mountain.

I'll have to keep that in mind for the next time. How many people can they hold comfortably?

The cabin are cool. Six poeple would be good. The upstairs is like an open loft. We didn`t stay there we were just exploring

The cabin is on Milesburn rd, and I was wondering if the roads are maintained around there, or if we should make sure everyone's in a 4x4. I hear there calling for snow. I'm hoping some of you DAMN northern folk might be able to give me some input.
FYI: WX is calling for heavy/moderate snow this weekend here in south central PA staring Friday afternoon into Saturday afternoon.

Thats what I'm hearing, and accumulations of anywhere from a few inches to over a foot. We're planing on heading up Friday morning, but I'm wondering if we'll be able to get back out on Sunday. I don't know the area, or how well the road maintenance is after a snow.

12-20+" is the current forecast here for friday night into sat afternoon and I'm about 24 miles south if it's the PATC cabin..... I'd take some extra supplies if I were you as you may be staying a few extra days :loveit:

I know there used to be some areas that cellphone service was a bit spotty.... dunno about there but a few miles west where the atv trails are there wasn't service in a good bit of that area.

Thanks for the update, and yes it's the PATC cabin. It looks like we may have to cancel, but we'll play it by ear and wait for the latest weather report before leaving. Many of the group need to be back on Monday, and with me being on crutches, 20" of snow may present a problem.
