I'm not buying a gasser (if ever) until I get this good. And no, don't hold your breath! :killingme:

That's pretty cool. However, isn't one of the issues that you don't have space to run up to obstacles in trials? There are areas at the cove with big rocks (e.g., when you're going down the hill on the blue trail there are a bunch on the right).

While I can appreciate the skill of someone that can ride like that, I think I'm missing the attraction of slamming myself and my bike against big rocks, over and over again. But if I did, I'd think the instant torque of an electric would be the way of the future.

You aren't actually slamming anything if you do it right. With a double blip nothing but the tires touch. Less stress on you and the bike than hitting bumps at speed. At the log class at TTC it was audibly obvious to everyone when you got the timing wrong and hit the skid plate. Even if you don't want to excel in trials the skills crossover to enduro/trail riding.

Electric will be the future when they really get it right.

Well said smdub.

As a total noob Im hearing my skidplate hit on logs most of the time.
Not so long ago I was happy just to get over a log w/out crashing and minimal energy spent. Now Im seeing how crappy I am at getting my front wheel to touch at the 2/3’rds mark.

I'm still working on surviving the log crossing.

The vintage events are very friendly and forgiving...we had a nice young lady ride her KTM Freeride on the 4 line sunday. She got a work out picking up the bike but did not give up. Electric will be cheating on 4 and even 3 line as no risk of stall. Line 2 and 1 you will do better having a clutch for the quicker moves needed and minimal run up room. 4 line is normally easier than what I set up at Kens and more open. Ken if you ride Jefferson you will need to take a break for a charge after second loop, they run a long loop (easy fields) to spread out the riders. Battery sucker for sure.

short of family issues, I'll be at Jefferson with my trusty Honda generator and battery charger. I'm more concerned about my body failing before the battery!

I also plan on doing the R&T trials event too. :deal:
