I actually watched the whole thing.
He isnt wrong saying how dualsports “kinda suck” at everything. People do buy dualsport and adventure bikes often with false expectations. The big one I read online is people thinking they will ride their dualsport 1-2 hours on the highway to get to their offroad/offpavement riding spot. Or how they can actually do any offroad (and still have fun) with a huge adventure bike.
That said I really do like my DR650 and I had such an awesome time on the last 2 big dualsport trips I did. SkinnyJ’s PA trips was AWESOME and the Kentucky Adventure Trail was epic. (I kinda want to do that one again, maybe backwards in a few years). For what they are dualsport bike are great.

When I could afford only one bike, I had a Honda NX650 and loved it. I commuted on it, went on smaller trips, used it as a cargo hauler
and participated in a couple of offroad events as well as did ride it in forest dirt roads and a bit off-road.
But then I realized it does nothing of it very well and decided to split - get a real pavement bike (Honda VFR800) and a dirt bike. If I had a huge garage and funds I'd have a ton of bikes and a dualsport 650 would be one of the first I get. But until that I will have a street bike and a dirt bike instead.

Having multiple bikes, even for the same apparent purpose, is really nice. For instance, when I had the CBR1000RR and the Versys 650 for riding to work I really enjoyed the differences between the bikes (for instance strong motor on the CBR, agility on the Versys).
