Shinko 216MX - Goldentyre alternative

Post by gots_a_sol » Sat Aug 05, 2017 12:19 pm

Apparently it is nearly the exact same tire as the GT 216AA but has Shinko's name molded in to it and is a bit cheaper. From Slavens it is $65 for the Shinko fatty and $100 for the GT fatty.

And some backstory on Shinko just because http://www.shinkotireusa.com/shinko-osaka-story
The Shinko Osaka Story

Established in 1946, the Shinko Group began as a manufacturer of bicycle tires and tubes in Osaka, Japan that today has become a burgeoning manufacture of rubber products.

I just put a pair of SHINKO's on the fronts. They are MX 51's - Look a lot like the old Dunlop 752 design. We'll see how they hold up, supposed to be good in the mud and sand. Got'em on Ebay through SUMMIT RACING out of Canton/Akron area of Ohio. They were $52.00 each and no shipping (even if you just buy 1). Hey even if they suck a little it's a great deal.
