I've been reading up on it. The battery only lasts about an hour between charges at heavy use. I haven't found a reference saying how long it lasts at the economy setting. I find it quite interesting.

Nah.....not for me. Street maybe depending on the configuration and usability. Dirt? Gimme a dinosaur swilling smoker.

I think it's a good thing that it's a KTM or, rather, coming from a big manufacturer. I hope they do well with this pilot.

in urban and suburban areas, electric will be the savior of offroad due to the very low noise. Rural areas are a different story but even at that, noise is still a common complaint.

I agree and I do hope the technology continues to improve but, until they get them to the point that they have similar range to a dino burner and can recharge as quickly as I can refill my tank and have a similar purchase and maintenance cost I'll stick to my internal combustion tech.

It's smart to debut the eco-friendly tree-hugger type stuff in the super liberal animal hugging states first. Those markets are where people are willing to pay a premium for sub-optimal performance in the name of leaf worship.
