Supermoto sprockets

Post by Grady »

This question is for the people who have SM wheels and dirt wheels for the same bike. I'm wondering what sprocket sizes you are all running. I'm looking to build up a set of Sm wheels for the Husky, but I would hate to have to swap the chain along with the wheels. I currently run 13/50. And would like to find a ratio more suited for the SM wheels, but still keep the same length chain. I don't know if it's possible, but I'd like to hear what everyone else does.

You could definately go to 15/48, maybe even 15/47 with the same length chain. That would put you in the right ballpark for "motard" gearing. I think my Husky SM610 is 15/45, my XR650L in motard trim is 15/47, and I run 15/44 on my CRF450R when set up for SM.
