But that is offset a little by diesel costing about a .20-50 more a gallon more right now and the initial high cost of the truck. If they could stick a light duty diesel in an F150 I'd be game.

As to HD's  Most locals, that's what they ride. I liked the older ones, way back when.
Look at the F150 EcoBoost. It'll get 22+ highway on gasoline, from the little I researched it's basically got two turbo's built into the block to reduce their temps and complexity while improving economy. I can't wait until the price comes down (used, 2-3 years old) to dump the LR.

Funny, that's what keeps it interesting for me. Otherwise, I kind of just space out. I'm not unknown to take 70->29 to work instead of Rt 32 between the two because 32 is such a snooze fest with only one lane each direction at that point even though the scenery is obviously prettier. 32 you just sit in line and zone out but 70 and 29 lets you do road slaloms and you have to keep an eye out for people trying to move into your lane, which I find exciting.

When possible, I take some nice twisties the entire way from my house to my office, but that changes my commute into an hour of bliss I don't always have time for.

70-80s HD's are the only ones I'll ride(gotta keep 'em carbur-ated). They were so broke in the early 80's they couldn't AFFORD to make bad parts! back then they had mark tuttle and erik buell, now the engirering dept. is run by the marketing dept....And the sad part is "bikers" think a 1200cc is too small. My 130lb. girlfriend was worried an 800 wasn't going to be powerful enough for her to ride on the highway. Yikes!

4.20 for diesel yesterday. Even at 45MPG, ouch! $63 for a week's worth of fuel. Plus $8.10 twice a week for the ICC when traffic sucks. I can't afford to go to work!
