Google Maps to GPS

How? Is there a one step process available? Pedro is in the works of converting the google maps I made up for our trip that starts next weekend but he is running it through 3 different steps to get there because it doesn't keep the way points in order in the 1st program which creates a .gpx file from the google map (too complicated to explain...) It seems that by now someone would have come up with a program to do this in one step.

The inverse of gpsvisualizer (so google maps to gps) is http://www.elsewhere.org/journal/gmaptogpx/ I haven't used it, but it's highly regarded.

TakItWithMe (from garmin) will only transfer waypoints, not routes. This is probably because they want you to pay $150 for their routing software.

I've searched for a good solution for google maps to GPS on a number of occasions, and it keeps seeming like I need to go the $150 route, which sucks, because garmin's map software sucks and their licensing scheme seriously pisses me off.
