One step closer
Well fellas Im one step closer to having my own shop I called Cumberland Perry vo-tech school today and got info on when and how to get my motorcycle state inspection license. I have had my automotive license for about 8 years now and figured Im gonna need to be able to inspect bikes when I open shop so now or never right? I have a goal to have a small motorcycle shop here at my place or a local spot if I find something cheap when that time comes. Right now the wifey is getting close to acquiring her RN degree and after that my current at the time employer can kiss my fucking ass and Im done working for the "MAN" because Im gonna be the fucking "MAN" I've had the dream of having my own repair shop for years and my Dad always said I would have one some day and that day is getting closer all the time. All I have to do is stop buying bikes and pay off the ones I have (easier said than done). I also want to carry items that people who ride actually need unlike most shops in my area with they're racks of street jackets and cleaning supplies.
The ability to inspect motorcycles opens a lot of opportunity for a small repair shop. The best part about it is my wife is behind me 110% and she actually thought about quitting school a few months ago but figured Id never make it without her bringing in the dough, and besides that she's a straight A student so how could I not love her

Cool, we need to talk about how you can coax 100 hp out of my anemic XRL
How about a traveling garage you can take on trips to riding locations!

Re: One step closer
Go for it! Especially if you have a wife who is on board with the idea and supportive. I started working for myself about a year and a half ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. Of course, it would have been almost impossible without the support of my wife. It's been tough, but worth every minute and struggle. I still don't make as much as I did working for someone else, but being my own boss is priceless. I figured if I worked as hard for myself as I always worked for others, how could I fail. If you're going to do it, I say go for it, and go 100%. Good luck, and don't let the economy scare you, quality work is always in demand.
