A mission for DAMN riders near Monrovia

Hi all, Anyone near Monrovia, MD? Specifically the 75/80 dragway? I used to roadrace minis at the kart track there in the mid-late 90's. I'd heard that the track was sold to a developer and racing was no more. I recently heard that the kart track is still there and that it might be available for ren...

Dual Sporting Attire

Might as well kick off my first real question: what do you folks wear when dualsporting? How about when it's colder out? What about protective gear? My current gear is mostly street/commute-oriented. I've already sprung for MX boots, and the search is on for goggles that will fit over my glasses. I...

Re: Happy N00b Year!

NX650? is that a V-twin? same engine as a Honda Hawk? Negative, the engine is the RFVC air-cooled single (644cc) that later powered the XR650L. Dry sump lubrication, and a low-compression design that'll digest crap-grade fuel anywhere in the world. The bike itself was short-lived in the US ('88-89)...

Re: Ice Screws

Hey Motojunky, how bad does that destroy the tire? Could you put some screws into the knobbies on your old knobby that you know you are going to replace in the spring time anyway? If I lived further north w/ more severe winters I'd probably do it. Not at all. You can put screws in a tire when you n...

Re: Ice Screws

There is a thread over on Thumper Talk about "Ice Screws" Everytime I see that thread I think of my ex-wife  sure wish they'd change the topic title :harhar: I didn't check the TT thread yet, but... anyone ever ride with screws? It's a lot of fun and worth the effort. The couple of...

Re: Trade DR for a two stroke?

Just a possibility. But should I pursue it? I have an 04 DR650, w/ both 21" knobbie and 17" motard wheelsets. The bike has slightly updated suspension front and rear, opened up airbox/rejet, exhuast, renazco seat. I've wrecked it both on and offroad, it has well over 20,000 miles on it. I...

Re: Hammer Run this weekend

I forgot my camera so it's not going to have any pictures. But this is a _must_do_ ride. The fire cut was awesome and there miles and miles of it and single track. Single track so tight in places you had to get one side of the bars through then the other, and I'm running narrow 30" wide Pastra...

Re: Saterday trip to wickys world

Hey guys. I kept hearing about this DAMN website, so I popped over to check it out. My employer will be pleased that I've found another place that I just had to join. The wickysworld ride was fun. I was the guy on the old dual sported XR250. I'm kinda glad it was so slippery, as it kept the limited ...
