Has anyone ever built or ridden one?

I wonder if you would be allowed to ride it on most mountain bike trails? If so, that would be amazing. I'm thinking it might be frowned upon / get you a ticket since it has a motor.

My Dad is selling his 1979 Honda XR500. He just rebuilt the motor with a Wiseco 10.5:1 compression piston and had the gas tank re-painted.
