Re: A good thing...

here's my beef about the only MSF course I took. They acted like street riding was the only riding done and if you didn't hold the bars their way, use all fingers on the clutch or brake, you were wrong and they weren't open to discussion. I know, one bad apple and all. I've gotten far more out of R...

Re: 2012 AMA Husqvarna Shenandoah 500 National 2-Day Dual Sp

Heading up Friday afternoon with either the F150 or the VW with the trailer. Anyone wanting/needing a ride let me know. Also down for sharing a campsite - I only need half.

Re: A good thing...

I've taught and administered motorcycle safety programs on both coasts: I've never had a student that didn't learn something. Even the 20yr Hardley veterans taking the class with a friend/for the insurance discount would talk about the bad habits they weren't aware of. Outside of that, statistically...

Re: insurance

USAA, then Progressive, now Rider's Insurance. Great rates, saved me over Progressive, and the policies are tailored to my needs.

Re: 3.95

Dumb question- do diesel trucks get better fuel mileage? I guess I can google ...wait.....yes they do. But that is offset a little by diesel costing about a .20-50 more a gallon more right now and the initial high cost of the truck. If they could stick a light duty diesel in an F150 I'd be game. As...

Re: Seeking field near 21784

I've got a place near Whites Ferry (not mine, but I have the owners permission) to ride, but you'd be my guest. My wife is learning too, has a CRF100F, and there are several acres (150+) of fields with some woody trails too. We could set up a weekend trip.

Re: Seeking aluminum welder

I've got a welder and the wire/sleeve for aluminum, but not the specific shielding gas and I haven't welded any aluminum yet. It should be relatively easy from what I've read - we just need something to sleeve the break (internally or externally). You game?

Re: TW-200 for a XT350

:nono:

The XT-350 has a long shaft on the front sproket to clear the tire. The next best swap is a XT350 engine, but you need to offset it 3" to the left to clear.

It'll have to be a TW-200 engine if I swap, I don't want to make a bunch of jack-shafts and carrier-bearings.

Re: TW-200 for a XT350

Is this personal experience? I hope I didn't get screwed... I paid $750 for the XT and put $100 into it - was hoping the TW would be a quick fix. I don't want to be out $800 something - If I can fix it for less than $1200 I break even.
