Re: Mountain Ridge on the 8th.

Sounds like you guys had a good time and no trench encounters. Maybe I can make it to the next one. I put the forks back on my dirt bike today. I've been riding to work. I have some strength training to do yet in my hand, but I'm getting there. I'm going to try to convince the orthopedist on Monday...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

Yeah, the clake is too dearly priced for me. Since I bought the midwest lever I've seen a few guys mention that they couldn't get the adjustments dialed in on the xtrainer. The thinking is that the slave cylinder isn't the right size. I haven't given up on mine yet. That said, I'll almost certainly ...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

That's exactly where the laziness comes in. The XT seems to have a fairly small window for adjusting the clutch lever. I spent a couple minutes playing with it without getting it where I wanted and then just threw the stock lever back on. I was able to get the stock lever adjusted decently without s...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

I actually have a midwest lever in the tool bag on the bike. I used it once but was too lazy to spend time getting it adjusted. I'll play with it. I don't know any fancy techniques so hopefully I can get it to work within my limited skill set.

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

Nice video clip. The trails are being over taken with maple saplings and it is a battle to keep the loop open. Get a copy of the trail map and learn some land marks and intersections and you will have a much more enjoyable ride and will be able to pick up trail you are passing by and will keep you ...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

I've ridden a ttr125 at the r&t club grounds and it was not pleasant in the rough stuff. The lady was taller than me but at least she's not nearly so heavy. A grass field or smooth dirt trails would be so much better. One of the r&t members has some land in Shepherdstown that is ideal. I nee...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

I forgot to mention a couple things. While we were sitting in the parking lot a gaggle of guzzis went by. 7 or 8 moto guzzis followed by a vfr. This drastically increased the number of guzzis I've seen on the road. The other thing was the guy who brought his wife and a friend to ride at shade. The w...

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

That sounds about right. I managed to not record the beginning but got 15.8 miles of it recorded.

Re: Riding July 2 and/or 3

Ok, so here's the actual ride report, which Sam has requested. The big thing for me is that I've been trying to get a functional GPS setup without spending much money. Towards that end I bought a cheap, used samsung rugby pro phone (water resistant, impact resistant) and loaded up locus pro mapping ...
