Nope. The XR4 is a much better trail bike and my son usually rides it. The KLX is a better DS ride, at least I think it is...I just need to get it sorted out.

The KLX (DRZ400) controls seem tight or close or cramped. Almost like I'm sitting the the head bearings. And ideas on how to rectify this? New bars? If so what type? Rotating the bars forward- already done once. Related is the foot pegs, they also seem "up front". Should I try wider pegs, ...

Check out Mtn Ridge. Its a haul ( 2.5-3 hrs) but with your brood you'll get the group discount. IMHO it's well worth the trip and one of my favorite places to ride. Trails for all sizes and ages, open fields, etc.

Looks like I'll be solo on this trip. I work till 8 pm, so maybe a late night Friday arrival. My shoulder and knee are still jacked, so nice easy dual sporting is the plan for a while.
