What is the minimum age? I have a 8yr old and would love to take him. Most legal areas are 12yrs.

Well that's because quads a heavier and have a larger contact patch. So they cause less erosion.

Who me? This pic was taken just after I got it. All that was done at that time was some tires and the 3x3 mod.
