That would been the first think i`d do. Sounds like a fuel filter. It`s a cheap fix. I know the 2.4 & 2.8 are powerless, but that doesn`t sound like to much load. Just watch the gas spary when you unhook the fuel it`s under pressure.

I`ve been kinda look for one this weekend. Polits are hard to find. The cheapest one i`ve seen is like 5k to much for me to play.
