Re: Winter Repairs, Mods and Upgrades

What you do to require a klr to need a new jug :lol2: :harhar: :harhar: :harhar: Fortunately for me, it was the PO! He had the top end apart at one point. I don't know what he did but oil consumption was 1 qt every 120 miles. After popping the top, it was apparent we needed a new piston, rings and ...

Re: Winter Farkles

I bought my KLR last year used and absolutely stock. The only upgrade last year was a custom Corbin flat seat. Over the winter it got a new jug (685), fork brace, Doohicky, upgrade fuses, Garmin Zumo 550, DRZ footpegs, footpeg lowering bracket, 2" anti-vibration handle bar risers, and Caribou c...

Re: Green Ridge Pre-ride Pre-ride 3/9

Holy cow Ken, it was pretty cold today. I'm impressed. Was it icy? No ice but plenty of water running across the road in unexpected spots (like blind turns). Cold? Well, Mom never accused me of being the smartest pup in the litter... :harhar: I actually went for a road ride w/ my brother. About 200...

Not bad but then I was riding pretty conservatively - ie, slow. I'm hoping the get some IRG GP-1s before the official GRSF ride :brows:

Nope and nope - I was starting to get cold and the temp was starting to drop. I wimped! :(

Green Ridge Pre-ride Pre-ride 3/9

I did a pre-ride for the official Pre-ride on the 15th. It was a bit chilly, particularly on top of the ridges. The ORV was closed, not that I planned on riding it. The access roads were close - reason unknown. Wasn't too much traffic out and I enjoyed playing with my new Garmin Zumo 550 :...

Re: Green Ridge Pre-ride 3/15

I rode over to GRSF today. Was a bit nippy. The two roads in from the visitor center were closed. No reason why given but it looked pretty wet in the neighborhood.

Re: Green Ridge Pre-ride 3/15

My rear (tire) is almost at the replacement point. The treat bars aren't showing yet but it is close! I've never been to GR, will I be able to get by until my new tires show up? I'm getting IRC GP-1s.

Yes, I'm the one with the Mac. :ugeek:
Cool - now we need to work on an appropriate skin for the board!
