Re: Tag-o-DAMN-rama

Oh, I do no THEENK so. DAMN that was fast! Good job - now where is the pic from the other side of the ford? :brows: Ha ha ha. I actually considered not claiming the tag even though I'd ridden to it, just so more folks would have an excuse to cross some water while the weather was nice. But with the...

Re: Tag-o-DAMN-rama

So I gotta ask you guys...will switching to a high fender reduce that sensation of hydraulic drag in crossing the fords? The deeper side of the tag up by Gambrills definitely felt like it was sucking a lot of power. The NX already has threaded mounting bosses on the underside of the triple tree for ...

Re: Tag-o-DAMN-rama

DAMN Ken, I knew I was too late when I saw fresh tracks here across the ford...and maybe also at the wrong one a couple hundred yards north?

Beautiful day for riding tho.

Is there some reason a lot of custom bike builds appear to be running unidirectional car tires backwards?

Re: Tag-o-DAMN-rama

After Tasker's, I dont believe there is a "rock garden" at Greenridge anymore. There is only that part that is "a little rocky". :harhar: this will have to go down as part of our "official" lexicon :lol2: Don't think that I'm not keeping notes. You all probably only sa...

Re: Happy N00b Year!

Might as well kick off my first real question: what do you folks wear when dualsporting? How about when it's colder out? What about protective gear? My current gear is mostly street/commute-oriented. I've already sprung for MX boots, and the search is on for goggles that will fit over my glasses. I ...

Re: Happy N00b Year!

Thanks, Craig! "Green Ridge"...you mean that place where I accidentally got lost last week after dark? :poser: Oldtown Orleans Rd just looks like any other mountain road to Google Maps, so I turn from MD 51 onto Purslane Rd, and already the brain is thinking "crap, this looks like som...

Re: Happy N00b Year!

NX650? is that a V-twin? same engine as a Honda Hawk? Negative, the engine is the RFVC air-cooled single (644cc) that later powered the XR650L. Dry sump lubrication, and a low-compression design that'll digest crap-grade fuel anywhere in the world. The bike itself was short-lived in the US ('88-89)...
