Question on the route: Is it published beforehand? How do the organizers communicate the route to the riders? I was just considering that today and thought that answer is likely to be roll charts -- and if that's the case, I need to get a roll chart holder as I have never used one before... <g>

It is older technology, but for the price, capabilities and feature set (including waterproof), it's tough to beat the Garmin 60CSx.
