How many approx total miles of the actual ride? do I need to eat/bring extra beans?

Howdy from newb, I'm gonna try to do a day trip & hopefully meet some of yall. We will have to haul bikes there since I haven't street legalized yet. I think I'm less than an hour away. Scared to ask, but how will I recognize any DAMN riders?
