Thanks everyone else for your suggestions. I have two trips coming up this year. For both I have physical/paper maps and Im very confident in my ability to use them.
But I do want to improve my ability to use technology and I’ll keep playing with MapOut and try to learn how to use it more.

Re: Map/Trail App you like?
I use a couple of different apps. When I'm riding something with published tracks like the Pennsylvania BDRX I use an app on my iPhone called MapOut. It's pretty versatile and lets you download the background very detailed maps for wherever you're going to be riding. I know one guy that used it as ...

Re: Map/Trail App you like?
I use Ride With GPS. I track my mtb rides, road -gravel rides and hikes. It is geared more towards rides than hikes but still tracks them. Gives elevation gain and loss, miles, and moving time. I use the paid plan to create routes that give turn by turn directions when riding unfamiliar trails. Ano...

Map/Trail App you like?
Anyone have a trail app they like/use for trail hiking, mtbiking, dirtbiking? All I really want it to do is use it to track myself on a trail and have the app tell me how far I went and how long. And see the route on a map. Elevation is nice. Years ago I used Endomondo but it stopped being supported...

I think this has some promise. Its an interesting size, somewhat small but still has a twin for longer road sections.

Re: Stark VARG
DAMN, I got all excited. This morning I woke up to an email from Stark about my bike and asking if I was ready to order. Some back and forth later and I learn MD still isn't open but I can deliver to a neighboring state if I want, at the risk of not being able to get a title. I told them I'll keep ...

Re: CliffHanger Trail-Moab

I was using the excuse of “…Im riding a borrowed bike and dont want to damage it…” It was a tough spot. Id like to think I could do better no...

Re: CliffHanger Trail-Moab
Maybe not the most appropriate bikes for 5MOH. But seems WAY more reasonable than ADV bikes.
The one guy is clearly a better rider and does pretty well.
Funny Vid
I think I like ADV bikes more in theory and smaller bikes w/ van/truck support in reality.
But if I had more money and time, I think the T7 is at the top of my “big bike” list.
