Re: DAMN reunion 2010

Greetings All, So, after a day of riding, or hunting, or fishing, or just enjoying the outdoors, the state has made it illegal to enjoy a cold one around the campfire. To me, it doesn't get much more idiotic than that. It seems government just can't stop playing nanny. This is a FREEDOM issue. I urg...

Re: I just had to tell someone.

I'd probably crap myself. The idea scares me nearly honest. One buddy reported having to use ice packs and had lotsa pain. :-o

Hey, I'd take a pill every day. Vasectomy -- no thanks.

Best Local Rides - Dirt/Stone & "offroad"

In the Hagerstown vicinity I have ridden the Michaux State Forest area, Green Ridge (a bit far out for a nice afternoon ride) and the Gambril/Frederick Watershed area. Allways in search of the dirt/stone, road less traveled type areas. They are all nice rides.

Am I missing any others?

Stumbled across this road last week -- I liked it as well. Watch the water holes!

Re: GreenRidge ORV 4-12?

Green Ridge was quite a wet mess this past weekend 5-17-07, but the riding was still fun. I didn’t hit the ORV trail other than to see no one was parked at the unloading point at 9 AM on Saturday. I saw a turkey hunter with his gun strapped across his ride – maybe a Yamaha DS. Also saw two 2008 KLRs...

Re: Gilardi Road

Where Mousetown tees into Gilardi there is a house you can't miss. Tires hold down tarps on the roof as "repairs". Trash everywhere. A guy named Wally lives there -- widely known locally as an eccentric wacko, has money, but you would never know it. He is a dumpster diver, trash collector, wildlife ...

Re: This weekend? Rich?

Anyone one up for a easy local ride this weekend? Rich needs to do some fords. Meet in Middletown, go south, catch Bennies Hill Rd, warm up on Sigler Road ford, then go down and see if Catoctin Creek is fordable on Boss Arnold Rd, then up to Steep Creek ford in the watershed, hit Echo Lake Rd and s...

Re: I got the M stamp today on the drivers license!

I would run dino oil up to 1000 miles, then switch to synthetic. I have had good results with Amsoil and Mobil One. There are lot's of Shell Rotella fans out there. I might try that in my KTM. But if you can afford it, it is hard to go wrong with Amsoil. I recommend 15/50 or 20/50 for you DRZ. But ...

Re: AMA Club

I wonder if the Green Ridge authorities would fully support such a thing. With formal rides comes probably more state “supervision” – from the city. Thus far I have found them very cool with bikes up there so long as all the rules are followed. Trouble is, like most things, a few bad apples can spoi...
