Re: 2019 Dirty Dabbers DS June 1-2, 2019

Been a few years since I last rode this event, but my recollection is that hill was near the start of Day 1. We did our best to start with the lead bikes and probably were only about 40th (of several hundred) when we got to base of hill. Riders ahead of us were *waiting* to begin their ascent until ...

Re: Tagging a 2T in Maryland

In the good old days, I was able to get a XR600 and a CR500 titled and tagged in Maryland. I believe those days have changed. Thought I could repeat in 2016 when I showed up at MVA with a brand new KTM300XC asking for a street title. They raised an eyebrow, called in a manager and manager said No Wa...

Re: 2019 Dirty Dabbers DS June 1-2, 2019

I am planning on attending if the forecast is not mostly rainy. I've done this ride a number of times, and many in the rain. Haven't done this ride in several years, but my experience in the past has been its a great ride. This will be my first attempt on a pig. In past years I rode more dirt-worthy...

Re: Show us your toy hauler!

kevvyd, I love your front hitch rig! That is sweet. I was studying the photo and was wondering about the strap on the front hitch. It looks like it assists with sway on the front rail. Is that the case and do you achieve this additional integrity by securing it to the passenger windshield wiper? :ki...

Re: Shade / Bald Eagle (7-mountains)

Not that I didn't trust you.... but I often like to double confirm for myself. I spoke to the Bald Eagle District office yesterday and they confirmed Bald Eagle DS trails closed until May 24, the Friday before Memorial Day. Pfft.

Re: Show us your toy hauler!

I started racing Budds Creek in '74. This was the hot setup back then. Do you remember these? After my first "car", a 1966 CJ5, I picked up a 1977 Chevy van and have pretty much owned vans since. People ask What do you use your van for? Well... hauling dirtbikes, of course!

Re: Fixing XR650L

I gots questions... 1. J&J, sweet pics and thanks for these... By the way, congratulations on your teardown and rebuild. Nice job! For the Jet-Hot coating, did you opt for the basic 1300 degree standard coating, or did you up the ante with the extreme coating?? Are these OE headers? Aftermarket? I c...
