Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

"Wow! Those 500EXCs are pretty nuts. I think you will have the best bike for the trip. Maybe you can lead the charges down the dirt road sections."

I will arrogantly and stupidly say "DAMN YES!" ...but Ill be safe

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

[ Cool man, glad to have you along on the trip. It has been way too long since I had actually ridden with you. I remember that first time at Tasker's Gap! I was wondering what bike you are bringing? The big Tiger or do you have a smaller thumper dualsport? [/quote] It has been a very long time since...

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

I'm very excited about this trip and future trips on the route. I bought a paper map and it is extremely detailed showing just where the dirt is but also shows all the gravel or dirt roads for all around the areas. It's a large map but has blow ups for every 150 miles or so.

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

Tire choices are difficult for the Wee. Originally, I wanted to try a TKC80 front and Mitas E-07 rear, but I think I might go for the Anakee Wild tires front and rear instead. I like wet asphalt performance and most of the options that fit the Wee's front are not good performers on wet asphalt. The...

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

my plan is to drive a jeep with a bike carrier on back to get down there and leave at my parents in dublin. the jeep has a tow bar on it. then at a later date I will drive my pick up down and flat tow my jeep back. it is a 4 door pick up so I can carry others with me.

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1

Id love to go. Ill split hotels. My parents live In Dublin which is an hour and half north of Damascas but they are right off 81. If someone wanted to leave a car safely down there, it can be left there. They have plenty of land and have agreed to let people leave cars. They also live an hour and ha...

Taskers gap anyone?

I got on this forum right about a year ago and hooked up with some of you with several taskers gap rides until it shut down for last year. I have learned so much from you guys and another group. I'd like to think after this year I wouldn't tap out so easily. So a weekday is doable for me. Weekends I...

Re: 2017 Shenandoah 500 - 30 Sept & 1 Oct 2017

That is what I remember from last year. Unless it was an adventure bike, my Yamaha dirt bike was the only one with an inspection and most others did not have turn signals either.

Re: 2017 Shenandoah 500 - 30 Sept & 1 Oct 2017

I have a dumb question. When they say bikes must be street legal does that mean there needs to be a current vs inspection?
