Re: "New" KLR650
I think what Kawasaki has done here is pretty right on. They've tweaked the tried and true with things that make it more robust and capable while maintaining their value price at the bottom of the mid-sized ADV bikes. In the winter of 2015 three other friends and I all went out and bought 2014.5/201...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
What are the advantages of the Nuc controller if on the OEM battery? 1) Throttle response. The Nuc has programmabe endpoints AND has an 8-pt throttle curve. So you can set the response too be as quick/slow as you like. The stock controller and throttle is very non-linear. Coming from a gas bike you...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
Check this out-Good thing they make a chain conversion kit! The Nucular 24F controls that Davej and I have are similar to the BAC8000 (but the Nuc is more configurable and has far better tech support.) I don't have a high power battery yet though. I'm waffling over the more stock sized 60V or getti...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
Sure seems like buying a new Honda product you would spend a bunch more time riding and far less attempting to make something to ride... True dat Mike but the thing that tipped me in this direction was the ability for my daughter to use it for trail rides with me on my WR250R. I'm sure some...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
making it better for the gnarlier stuff we ride (21" front wheel, trials tires, etc) I saw this while I was looking at Woody's wheels last night! https://woodyswheelworks.com/collections/complete-wheels/products/sur-ron-x-wheel-21x1-60-off-road Excellent. Thanks for the link. You mentioned tha...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
I went ahead and ordered a Sur Ron with a few options like the 54T rear sprocket for crawling around in the woods. I'm hoping that will be a reasonable training aid and allow me to be patient about finding the right deal on the Montesa. I'd appreciate all you guys keeping your eyes pealed and I'll b...
Re: Sh!T Kit
When we did the TAT, I carried a small roll and a shovel but only had to use it once out in the middle of the high desert in Nevada. This looks like a pretty convenient bit of kit for the hard core adventurer.

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
Delivered my Beta to it's new, very excited owner: https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-7c8Z6Hw/0/M/i-7c8Z6Hw-M.jpg It's always bitter sweet to part with a great motorcycle but the enthusiasm it's new owner has makes it a feel good thing. So, I've located a Montesa Cota 260 bike but I'd have to go to...

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
I'm mulling over ordering Sur Ron X to ride while I'm on my quest for the Honda. With proper tires and some handlebar rise on it it seems like it would be a fun and stealthy way for me to get more practice close by home.

Re: WTB: Montesa 2604T
Those 200's are hard to find. I bet you will have no problem selling it. Almost as rare as finding a nice lightly used 260 4rt So I'm discovering... Not totally opposed to buying new but I can be patient looking for used. I've seen a couple of videos for something called a Montesa 4Ride. It looks l...
