Re: Riding Michaux

I'll just get the embarrassment out of the way all at once, I got such a good deal on it, and got the deal done so fast, I didn't realize it was an "automatic" until I was loading it onto the truck...... It's growing on me. I think of it as a rekluse. Hah, I could see me doing that too. You should ...

Re: Joe's Beta thread

Looks like you'll have to put more effort in to booger up the new setup. Not quite as adjustable though.

The liberty in Winchester at 81 and 7 has ethanol free 93. Not the most convenient but it is available.
Ah, I could swing by that one while heading to some rides. Thanks!

Re: Greenbrier Enduro - Sunday March 17th

Do they still sell "dry gas"? I remember the water thing being a regular issue when I was a kid although that might have been mostly related to gas in the tractor/condensation but dad kept a can of dry gas in his truck too. Maybe gas stations are generally better about it now... Unfortunately yes, ...

Riding 3/17 plus a really hot bike

I got out to Phil's super secret riding area yesterday (thanks again Phil!). It is a very cool piece of property. He's put in a lot of work making some very tight trails. So we were not going fast. I had a good time out there until my bike got real hot and spewed a bunch of coolant. I found a dent i...

Re: Tires Tires Tires

Heh, I'm ok with the styrofoam ban. We do go through a lot of trash and there's no good way to deal with it all (even China won't take a lot of our junk/recyclables any more). Other things that are considered better for the environment don't make sense to me, e.g., electric cars. The mining process ...

Re: Tires Tires Tires

How to get rid of old tires? I have some 5 or 6 lying around. A couple "maybe" could be usable. I'm no tree hugger but I go the official route and take it to the local dump and pay the environmental fee. I used to have issues with this since I would go through too many tires (both street and dirt) ...

Re: Dual Sport Advice Needed

I was surprised at how fast Phil could take the corners with the knobbies on his 650. If I had a dual sport with knobbies I'm sure I would still ride it conservatively on the street but it was cool to see that they can be pushed harder on pavement. Given the significantly greater power of that 650 I...

Re: Dual Sport Advice Needed

Very cool. I had dirt wheels for my X but I sold them. The idea of swapping stuff sounds good but I'm way too lazy in practice. :)
